Martin David Ledwon is responsible for Marketing, Communications and Sustainability at UPM Communication Papers, the world leading producer of graphic papers. As part of his role, Martin oversees the development and implementation of a holistic sustainability strategy for UPM’s paper business focusing on the continuous improvement of the company’s Environmental and Social footprint.
Before joining UPM in 2017, Martin worked in a similar role at Tetra Pak where he was responsible for communication and marketing activities in the company’s Europe and Central Asian business. Prior to entering the packaging and paper industry he worked at Siemens, starting as Vice President Government Relations involved in defining and articulating the company’s contribution to energy and mobility related policy developments. Amongst others he represented Siemens in the Government platform defining Germany’s E-Mobility strategy. After this he oversaw Marketing and Communication for Siemens Smart Grid business. Martin started his professional careers as a Public Affairs consultant.
Martin is a German national and grew up in Berlin. He obtained a Master’s Degree in German and English Literature from Freie Universität Berlin and studied Philosophy, History and Economics at National University of Ireland, Galway. He is married and has three kids.Back
