Journalist and Publisher
Previously Globo and Abril
Paula Mageste is one of Brazil’s leading journalists and media executives. She spent 20 years as an Editorial Director and Publisher at Brazil’s two top media companies, Globo and Abril.
At Globo, she helped shape the joint venture with Condé Nast and led the transition to a new editorial culture. In addition, she led the digital transformation of 9 brands and successfully repositioned Criativa magazine, which later became the foundation for the Brazilian edition of Glamour.
At Abril, Paula led a transformation in women’s magazines in Brazil, updating imagery, themes, approach and audience relationships. She and her team created clear brand voices for each of the 10 titles and websites under her direction. This led to campaigns, causes and movements with enough power to resonate with a relevant female audience and created differentiated solutions in advertising, projects, experiences and branded content to clients.Back
